Armed self-defense against violent Islamists gives aid and comfort to the Islamic State, Hillary Clinton told George Stephanopoulos on Sunday.
Clinton’s remarks were directed at Liberty University President Jerry Falwell, Jr., the son of the late Jerry Falwell.
“I’ve always thought that if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in and killed them,” Falwell said on Friday.
Falwell later clarified his remark. He meant to say terrorists, not Muslims, but this revision was ignored by Clinton.
“This is the kind of deplorable, not only hateful, response to a legitimate security issue but it is giving aid and comfort to ISIS and other radical jihadists,” the former secretary of state told Stephanopoulos.
