President Trump could fire FBI special counsel Robert Mueller without any legal consequences contrary to what Democrats and Republicans have said, according to a CNN panel.
“I think he could get to the point of having Robert Mueller fired now,” said CNN political analyst Mark Preston. “If you’d asked me this question 30 days ago, I’d say I don’t think he could get away with it. I do think he could get away with it now.”
Any misconduct found on Mueller’s part could give Trump the justification to fire the special counsel, Preston added.
“If he were to do it, and he were to be able to grasp onto any little bit, any little bit of misconduct by that office, then I think he could get away with it,” he said.
A poll held on Sunday by media mogul Matt Drudge asked readers if Trump should fire Mueller, and 76% of over half a million voters said ‘Yes.’
Trump expressed his disapproval of the phony Russia investigation numerous times, but as revelations surrounding disgraced former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe surface showing clear bias against Trump, the president is certain Mueller’s investigation is nothing more than a “witch hunt.”
“Why does the Mueller team have 13 hardened Democrats, some big Crooked Hillary supporters, and Zero Republicans? Another Dem recently added…does anyone think this is fair? And yet, there is NO COLLUSION!” Trump tweeted on Sunday.

According to Trump’s lawyers, he is not considering firing Mueller.
“In response to media speculation and related questions being posed to the administration, the White House yet again confirms that the President is not considering or discussing the firing of the Special Counsel, Robert Mueller,” Trump lawyer Ty Cobb said on Monday.
