A Collin County commissioner is trying to keep what he calls an “illegal immigrant tsunami” from bringing large numbers of undocumented children to Collin County.
Mark Reid added a resolution to the agenda for the commissioner’s court meeting on Monday that said “Housing minor children suspected of being in the country illegally is not in our citizens’ best interest.”
Reid urged the court to “refuse requests or directives to process or house these children.”
However, it’s not clear that the federal government has any plans to house children in Collin County.
