A congressman is warning that members of ISIS, the brutal Islamic jihadist group that has taken over portions of Syria and Iraq, have been caught entering the U.S. through the southern border with Mexico.
“If you really want to protect Americans from ISIS, you secure the southern border,” Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., said in an interview with the Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren.
“It’s that simple. ISIS doesn’t have a navy, they don’t have an air force. They don’t have nuclear weapons. The only way they have to harm America is by coming in the southern border, which they already have done.”
Hunter said his information comes from the Border Patrol.
“They were caught at the border … therefore we know that ISIS is coming across the border,” he said. “If they catch five or 10 of them, we know there are dozens more that did not get caught.
“That’s where we’re at risk here … from ISIS and radical Islamists coming cross the border.”
WND reported the Department of Homeland Security, which claims there is not an imminent danger of ISIS breaching the nation’s southern border, has nevertheless confirmed ISIS may be thinking about making such a move.
