It took a while, but yesterday charges and departmental punishment finally came down against a Philadelphia police officer who allegedly assaulted a man and a woman outside at Dunkin’ Donuts back in February.
According to NBC-10 in Philly, it all started when city Officer Joseph Marion, who was off-duty at the time, allegedly engaged in a scuffle with a Dunkin’ Donuts employee who was outside the restaurant spreading ice-melt on the sidewalk at the time.
The incident was touched off when the cart the employee was using to help spread the ice-melt rolled into the officer’s private vehicle, according to NBC-10, which writes:
Marion, 39, allegedly got out of his vehicle and attacked the worker. A woman nearby tried to intervene and Marion attacked her as well, police said.
