The propaganda effort is well-timed – it is occurring as the Syrian government has accepted the “essential modalities” under which the United Nations has signaled it is ready to investigate whether chemical weapons had been used in the country.

It is reasonable to speculate that the forces aligned against al-Assad, organized and funded by the CIA, Saudia Arabia and Qatar, have decided to state a false flag to divert attention away from previous accusations of chemical warfare in Syria. The attacks were discounted and declared crude fabrications by Alexei Pushkov, head of the Russian lower house of parliament’s international affairs committee, and others.

In addition, Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin said a Russian scientific team accessed the site of an attack in Khan al-Assal concluded that Syrian mercenaries supported by the CIA and funded by Saudi Arabia and Qatar were behind chemical attacks, not the al-Assad government.
