The Czech Republic has resolutely rejected the EU’s plan to redistribute migrants amongst member states. SPD politician Radovan Vicha even said that “the EU is committing suicide and forcing us to join it”.

On Wednesday, the Czech Chamber of Deputies asked their parliament to vote on the EU’s plans to force member states to accept a certain number of migrants.

The chamber’s opposition against the EU’s migrant quota proposal and its related financial sanctions, was supported by 163 of the 165 deputies that were present.
