The current White House scandals have some people scrutinizing the elected officials in Washington. An underlying current has been greatly overlooked. Those in the “administration” were elected to be there “by the people, for the people.” A lack of discipline, greed and lies permeate our system and choosing to NOT deal with it is still a choice. We the people have allowed this “monster” to be created.
The United States has drifted far and away from what the founding fathers intended when they created the Constitution.
The very fabric of its creation had God in it and reminded people that each and every person had fundamental human rights.
Today, there are so many things challenging our Constitution and Bill of Rights that any of those things coming against it could permanently damage the integrity of what was intended in 1776. This policing agency called the IRS was not intended to be Judge, Jury and Enforcer, simply a tax collecting entity.
The most puzzling part of the IRS scandal is the way the media has been handling it. Instead of being the government watchdog, the press has become part of the government publicity arm, which is playing with fire. As the government eats their own, now the AP is in the jaws of the Department of Justice’s investigation. Somehow this scandal has become a discussion on “do we need non-profit organizations?” How about “do we need the IRS?” It is the only agency that can ask anything it feels like and get away with it. Evidence from the investigations shows that the IRS was arrogant enough to ask, “what do you pray about?”
We have simply allowed the IRS and the government too much power. We need to draw clear boundaries, contact our representatives and demand changes. Otherwise, Americans are agreeing to be a part of this dysfunctional relationship with government agencies. “We the people” still have a voice. God Bless America.
Proverbs 6:16-19 (ESV)
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
