Another poll gives Donald Trump a big lead in the Republican presidential race, and this one shows the New York businessman topping the 30% mark.
Trump scores 32% in the new CNN/ORC Poll, with another outsider — retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson — in second at 19%.
“Together, these two non-politicians now hold the support of a majority of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, and separately, both are significantly ahead of all other competitors,” CNN reports.
No other Republican tops double figures in the new CNN survey.
Jeb Bush is third at 9% — down four points since August — followed by Ted Cruz (7%), and Mike Huckabee and Scott Walker (5%).
All the other Republican candidates finished at 3% or less.
CNN released the poll less than a week before Wednesday’s second Republican debate, which the cable news network is sponsoring.
