The public is overwhelmingly defending Curt Schilling after ESPN fired the analyst for sharing a Facebook meme criticizing “gender neutral” restrooms.
Schilling, a former Red Sox pitcher who’s well-known for his political views, shared the meme to apparently point out that sexual predators would exploit the current push to eradicate biological sex bathrooms.
When CBS NY broke the news, commenters were overwhelmingly for Schilling:
ESPN, you’re finished. Take your political correctness and stuff it… and people wonder why Trump will win in a landslide. American people are fed up with political correctness. Simply tell it like it is. Call a spade a spade. We’re with you Curt! ESPN, you’re done! – Richard O.
Done with ESPN, ABC, Disney. I’ll get my sports elsewhere. – Mike R.
While the world is blown apart by islamic terrorists we are fighting which bathroom a pervert should use.
After seven years of Obama administration we need government/corporation guidance for which bathroom to use, sick! – Mark R.
No one is allowed to have opinions anymore: we must all assimilate under the Borg directive. – Jack S.
Disgraceful!! Curt got canned for telling the truth! How is it offensive for pointing out the obvious? What if I feel like a dog that day, can i use the dog park to dump? – Antoinette K.
Society has gone completely insane.
One of the hallmarks of mental health is to accept the circumstances in life that cannot change, which is why a man who claims to be Napoleon is deemed mentally unstable. One of the goals of any psychiatrist would be to guide that would-be Napoleon to accept the fact that he is not Napoleon. Sexual identity is fixed at birth: a person who is born biologically as a male or female — with the rare exception of those born with sex chromosome disorders — is male or female, and always will be, regardless of his or her so-called “gender identity”. Any “sex change” operation, no matter how skillful or elaborate, does not change that fact, a fact that is evident in every one of the trillions of cells in the transsexual’s body, which will still show as being XX (female) or XY (male) under a microscope… – Gregg B.
Schilling himself said that people would disagree with him, but that’s what free speech – and tolerance – is all about.
“See here’s the thing: I do NOT care what color you are, what race, what sex, who you sleep with, what you wear. I don’t care and I never have,” he wrote. “I have opinions, but they’re just that, opinions, and opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one and they usually stink.”
“You frauds out there ranting and screaming about my ‘opinion’ (even if it isn’t)… are [also] screaming for ‘tolerance’ and ‘acceptance’ while you refuse to do and be either.”
