One week after Alex Jones’ Infowars Moneybomb, Fox News host Glenn Beck shilled a moneybomb for the establishment Tea Party organization FreedomWorks. It was hit by a cyber attack on Thursday.
“The attack crippled the site at about 9:45 a.m. just when the fund-raising drive was publicized on the radio by conservative talk show host Glenn Beck. The group estimates it lost about $80,000 in potential donations as it struggled to bring its site back online,” the Wall Street Journal reported.
“The precisely timed denial-of-service attack sowed chaos, snarling the organization’s Web traffic and setting off a flood of calls from frustrated radio listeners who were unable to access the site to make their donations. The group estimates the attack cost over $40,000 in lost donations alone,” Newsmax explained.
“We think the idea was to take our site down until after the election,” said Kara Pally, web developer for FreedomWorks. “This was politically motivated.”
The Wall Street Journal refers to FreedomWorks as “a clearinghouse for the diffuse tea party movement.” Rather, it should be considered an establishment clearinghouse to weed out Libertarians and other elements unacceptable to the Republicans.

FreedomWorks was created in 2004 when Citizens for a Sound Economy merged with Empower America. Citizens for a Sound Economy was a political front for transnational corporations, including Citibank, General Electric and General Motors. The Board of Directors of Empower America is dominated by establishment Republicans and neocons, including William J. Bennett, Jack Kemp, the late Jeane J. Kirkpatrick, Vin Weber (who also works for the CIA’s National Endowment for Democracy) and the theologian Michael Novak, who is a mucky-muck at the American Enterprise Institute, the neocon organization responsible for providing the “minds” behind Bush’s illegal and immoral invasion and mass murder campaign in Iraq.
FreedomWorks receives money from the Sarah Scaife Foundation, run by the “reclusive billionaire” neocon Richard Mellon Scaife. Scaife’s Forum World Features was a joint British intelligence-CIA news media operation based in London.
The chairman of FreedomWorks, former Congress critter Dick Armey, was a lobbyist for the consulting firm DLA Piper and in that role from 2005 to 2009 he promoted the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, otherwise known as Mujahedeen-e-Khalq (MEK), which the State Department has branded a terrorist group. MEK has launched dozens of terrorist attacks inside Iran. It is supported by the CIA.
DLA Piper does the bidding of banksters and large multinational corporations.
Considering the shadowy intelligence connections and support from large transnational corporations FreedomWorks receives, one wonders why it needs to enlist Glenn Beck for a moneybomb.
It is suspicious Beck would be called on to shill for the CIA’s version of the Tea Party a week after Alex Jones held a moneybomb. It is also suspicious FreedomWorks would be hit by a denial-of-service attack just as Glenn Beck began to shill for funds. The attack put the FreedomWorks effort in the headlines briefly.
