The European Union is finding itself unable to verify how around €1 billion given to Turkey has been spent.

Brussels handed Turkey the money to help Syrian refugees, but Turkish data protection laws are seemingly preventing full disclosure of where the money has gone exactly. Hmmm.

The Facility for Refugees in Turkey program is backed as having delivered a “swift response to the crisis in challenging circumstances” according to the European Court of Auditors.
