Though he is reportedly not required to give up any firearms he may own, Texas Gov. Rick Perry is no longer permitted to carry a concealed handgun.

Perry, an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment, is also apparently prohibited from buying any more guns or ammo — all these restrictions arising from his recent felony indictment for alleged abuse of power.

So, even if they have backfired and bolstered Perry’s popularity, the Democrat-driven charges against the Republican governor are proving to be a form of gun control.
