The city of Bradenton has closed its code enforcement case against a man who painted an American flag on his house.

“It’s great. They should’ve dropped it and never opened it,” Brent Greer told FOX 13.

“[I] decided to paint the American flag in order to show this is still America,” Greer explained back in July.

He added that he did it to show he wouldn’t just lie down in the face of what he feels was unfair treatment by his local government.

It started with a dead Christmas tree outside of his house. Someone reported it to code enforcement, prompting officers to investigate his property.
