Only one in four Americans, 26 percent, say they are satisfied with the way things are going in this country, a new Gallup Poll finds. Or, viewed another way, 74 percent of Americans apparently are dissatisfied.
Americans still list government, the economy and unemployment as top problems, even though the unemployment rate continues to drop.
Between May 6 and 10, Gallup asked a random sample of 1,024 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia: “In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time?”
Twenty-six percent said they were satisfied, and that was down six points from January, when 32 percent of Americans said they were satisified with the direction of the country.
