Gov. Cuomo Thursday used Bernie Sanders’ position on guns to blast the Democratic presidential wannabe’s message that he is a different kind of politician.
Appearing on WNYC’s “The Brian Lehrer Show,” Cuomo rekindled his attacks on Sanders for voting for a bill pushed by then Republican President George W. Bush that gave gun manufacturers immunity from lawsuits.
The law, Cuomo said, helped scuttle a safe gun agreement negotiated by the Clinton administration with some gun manufacturers like Smith & Wesson.
Cuomo rejected Lehrer’s contention that Sanders might have a different position as President on the issue of guns than he does as a U.S. senator from Vermont, which has loose gun laws.
