The city’s public health department said an additional 45 babies were exposed to tuberculosis at Providence Memorial Hospital, bringing the total number of exposures to about 751.

Health officials said the exposure took place in a nursery unit from a health care worker that was confirmed as an active tuberculosis case.

Officials reached out to the parents of those babies via certified mail and/or via telephone, just like the 706 on the original list.
