The editor’s The Huffington Post have announced Donald Trump is no longer a political candidate and his remarks on the issues will be equated with a circus sideshow.
“Our reason is simple,” write Ryan Griffin and Danny Shea. “Trump’s campaign is a sideshow. We won’t take the bait. If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you’ll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette.”
It should come as no surprise the progressive news outlet owned by America Online has decided a leading presidential candidate is no longer newsworthy.
Over the past few months, the left has engaged in a campaign to deny political and historical reality. The most recent examples include an attempt to remove the Confederate battle flag from its historical context and a demand that Stone Mountain be dynamited to remove Confederate heroes Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson.
Obama diehards have gone so far as to demand Mount Rushmore be torn down because George Washington and Thomas Jefferson owned slaves.
Ongoing historical revisionism or negationism by the left is reminiscent of efforts by the Soviet Union to control academic historiography to elevate ideological and ethno-racial imperialism by Russians.
Removing the political statements of Donald Trump and downgrading them to entertain fluff is a form of denialism and an effort to undermine political discussion as the election approaches.
Of course, Donald Trump will continue to be covered as a legitimate presidential candidate by other corporate media outlets.
The fact Huffpo has decided Donald Trump is on par with Kim Kardashian reveals the intolerance of the left toward political plurality and its hypocrisy when demanding diversity of thought, which is in fact little more than an attempt to lock out and persecute people who disagree with their collectivist, politically correct ideology.
