The Illinois attorney general has filed a petition to have a judicial ruling striking down a ban on concealed handguns reviewed.
Lisa Madigan’s petition asks the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit to review the December appeals panel ruling that the state’s longtime ban on carrying concealed weapons in public violates the Second Amendment, the Chicago Tribune said Tuesday.
If the court accepts the petition the case will be re-heard by all 10 appellate judges; if the petition is rejected the attorney general could ask the U.S. Supreme Court for review.
