The London Mayor’s ratings are in a free-fall to their lowest yet after the summer’s long string of violent crimes. A recent YouGov study commissioned by Queen Mary University of London reveals the drop from +22 to a shocking +4 today.
Perhaps the low numbers are simply ‘part and parcel’ to being Mayor of a large city, however, such a loss in support as this was not been shared by the previous mayor, Boris Johnson.
The study shows the drop in popularity for both Labour and Conservatives with Londoners over the summer, as well. The Tories failed to gain one voter in four. Interestingly, as well, former UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, seems to have been resoundingly rejected by Londoners after hinting of a run for the 2020 mayoral contest.
