“Unidentified sources have become the majority of the voices people hear about in today’s news. People with no names are writing our nation’s history. Words are important, and accusations can lead to severe consequences,” she said.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders encouraged Americans to call the NYT and ask them to release the identity of the author.

Multiple officials within the Trump administration have come forward to deny writing the article including, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Defense Secretary James Mattis, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and others.
