European Union ambassadors are making top secret plans to intensify the bloc’s no-deal Brexit preparations amid fears the British Parliament will reject the agreement negotiated by Theresa May, revealed in a confidential memo.

Member states have told the European Commission to step up no-deal contingency planning amid fears of “uncertainty” in the House of Commons could see the withdrawal agreement sunk when it is sent to Westminster for ratification, according to a document seen by Express.co.uk.

Their concerns come amid shock remarks from the Labour Party conference, where shadow Brexit secretary Sir Keir Starmer suggested his party were prepared to vote against Theresa May’s deal if they deemed it inadequate.
