The Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) has warned that any country involved in ongoing airstrikes against the group’s positions in Iraq and Syria will suffer the same fate as France, directly threatening an attack on Washington.
Reuters is reporting that ISIS, which carried out the deadliest terrorist attack in Western Europe in over a decade in Paris Friday, has published a new video that threatens all countries involved in airstrikes against it. France retaliated against the terrorist attacks Sunday night with airstrikes against the Syrian city of Raqqa.
The video was published by a group calling itself “Wilayah Kirkuk” or “State of Kirkuk” — an ancient city in northern Iraq currently under ISIS control. The group has published dozens of other videos in the name of ISIS.
In the video, according to the Independent, militants show footage of French President Francois Hollande speaking in the wake of Friday’s atrocities. It also shows footage of police operations and bodies being loaded into an ambulance, adding that other countries may “suffer the same fate.” A militant speaks to the camera saying: “We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day God-willing, like France’s, and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington.”
