Clip shows dead Syrian Army soldiers with blackened faces

A new video appears to show dead Syrian soldiers who may have been the victims of a chemical weapons attack launched by western-backed rebels in the war torn country.

The clip shows members of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group walking around what appears to be a former Syrian Army position in a remote area strewn with the dead bodies of soldiers.

Some of the victims have blackened faces while others appear to have no visible injuries. Gas masks lie nearby some of the bodies.

Most of the soldiers appear to be unarmed, suggesting they were not engaged in a gunfight or repelling a conventional attack at the time of their deaths. Nearby tanks appear to be fully intact.

“Is this the smoking gun that the terrorists are using Sarin?” asks the description which accompanies the video.

As we reported at the time, last August’s chemical weapons attack in Ghouta, which was seized upon as the casus belli for a US military intervention in Syria that was only derailed at the last minute, was blamed on the Assad government yet the preponderance of evidence suggested that it was launched by the rebels themselves.

Phone calls intercepted by Germany’s BND intelligence also indicated that Assad was not behind the Ghouta incident nor any other alleged chemical weapons incident.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh presented evidence earlier this month that Turkey also played a role in launching the August 21 attack.

Over the course of the 2 year conflict, several videos have emerged of rebels both allegedly using and plotting to use chemical weapons, evidence routinely overlooked by the mass media which has habitually laid the blame at the feet of the Assad regime.
