Barack Obama, who as commander in chief has overseen two bloody wars, one of Libya the other ongoing in Syria, said during a news conference Bashar al-Assad has to leave the country for the blood-letting to end in Syria.

The blood-letting is a direct result of the proxy war initiated by the United States. The US government initiated the so-called civil war along with the Gulf Emirates and Turkey. They are responsible for the Islamic State, al-Nusra, al-Qaeda, Ahrar ash-Sham, Jaysh al-Islam, Jaysh al-Jihad and dozens of others mercenary groups, not Bashar al-Assad.

A NATO study from 2013 showed 70% of Syrians supported President Bashar al-Assad, 20% adopted a neutral position and 10% supported the “rebels.”

Compare that to support for Obama. According to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released last week, Obama’s approval rating stands at 43 percent, down two points from October.

Obama should step down, not al-Assad. For the murder and mayhem to stop the United States needs to get out of the Middle East and mind its own business.
