Obama has picked Joe Biden as his running mate. Biden, a member of the CFR, may be considered a neocon lite.
He voted for Bush’s twin invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Biden, along with the CFR’s Leslie Gelb, has long argued for “decentralizing” Iraq. In other words, breaking it up into ethnic statelets, a plan long proposed by the neocons.
He voted for the Patroit Act, followed the Democrat line to not renew it in 2005, and then went ahead and voted to renew it in 2006.
According to an NNBB write-up, Joe “wholeheartedly supported the actions of federal agents in the Waco standoff, and visibly sneered at witnesses in Senate hearings who questioned agents’ acts.” In short, Joe supported the incineration of babies, hardly surprising as he later supported and signed-off on the mass murder of over a million Iraqis.
Joe was an enthusiastic supporter of Clinton’s bombing of Serbia, so much so he sponsored the March 23, 1999 Senate resolution authorizing Clinton to bomb Serbia. Biden declared “all Serbs should be placed in Nazi-style concentration camps” during Senatorial deliberations in 1999 over NATO’s attack against Serbia. On Larry King Live, he characterized the Serbs as “a bunch of illiterates, degenerates, baby killers, butchers and rapists.”
Predictably, it will be more of the same with Biden backing up Obama. In order to demonstrate there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans, recall Biden saying on March 16, 2004 on Hardball that John Kerry pick John McCain as his running mate. “I think that this is time for unity in this country, and maybe it is time to have a guy like John McCain — a Republican — on the ticket with a guy he does like. They do get along. And they don’t have fundamental disagreements on major policies,” said Joe.
Indeed, when it comes to Republicans and Democrats, there are no “fundamental disagreements on major policies.” Come November and the election of either Obama or McCain, it will be more of the same.
