[efoods]President Obama will take to the road today in an attempt to sell his controversial healthcare reforms to a suspicious public as he struggles to be heard over the furious protests that have greeted the centrepiece of his domestic agenda.
As the White House goes on the offensive in an attempt to convince Americans of the benefits of the plans, Mr Obama will hold town hall meetings in Montana today and Colorado tomorrow to counter a stream of “misinformation”.
“We are not going to stop pushing back on misconceptions,” Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, announced last night. “He understands he has a pulpit that is large enough to deal with some of the misinformation that some people might not ordinarily ask or inquire about because they’ve read it somewhere and they just assume that it’s true.”
