WAXAHACHIE, Texas – While proponents of Michelle Obama’s overhaul of the National School Lunch Program boast kids and parents actually like the changes, is it possible lunches are actually getting worse?
The pitiful-looking lunches continue to appear on Twitter, thanks to students who are fed up with being on the receiving end of “healthy” school lunch experiments.
Student Enzo Garza posted a photo he says was taken at Life School in Waxahachie, Texas. He appears to be holding his mashed potatoes like a hockey puck.
Accompanying them are corn and a cubed substance that may or may not be meat.

Meanwhile, Steve Wheadon, an educator in Washington, DC, posted this photo of what he says is “supposed to be” eggs.

The Republican Congress will be considering reauthorization of the National School Lunch Program this year and early indications are their proposed changes will do little to change anything seen in these photos.
