A new pledge from Planned Parenthood is bound to make the Texas governor’s race a little more competitive. The women’s advocacy group says it plans to spend $3 million to help get more women to vote for Democratic candidates. The $3 million will be used through different means including online, radio and door to door.
Planned Parenthood says it hopes it will help elect more Democrats here in Texas, specifically in the governor’s race. The group has tried similar efforts in other states.
Planned Parenthood spent nearly $2.5 million in last year’s Virginia governor’s race, helping a Democrat unseat a Republican. It plans to spend another $3 million in a North Carolina Senate race.
The group hopes to reach more than 300,000 women.
