Trump administration Border Czar Tom Homan spoke with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl over the weekend about the massive decrease in illegal aliens entering the United States.
Admitting border crossing numbers “are dramatically down,” Karl questioned how much longer the U.S. military will be used to deter illegal immigrants.
Homan explained that border crossings are “down 96 percent,” and that “known gotaways” have gone from 1,800 a day under the Biden administration to double digits currently.
“But, we’re not going to be satisfied until known gotaways are down to zero. We’re going to secure that border and make sure no public safety threats or national security threats cross that border and get away,” he said.
The Border Czar pointed out that as the land border becomes more secure illegals will take to the water to try and sneak into the country, saying the administration won’t stop until it has “total operational control of the border.”
He also noted border security is more than just an immigration issue because unidentified individuals coming into America pose a major national security risk.
