President-elect Donald Trump issued a blistering statement Wednesday condemning the Biden administration and Democrat Party’s open border policies that have allowed thousands of unvetted foreign criminals into the U.S.
The statement came in response to the ISIS-linked suspect who drove a truck through a crowd in New Orleans’ downtown Bourbon Street early Wednesday morning, killing 10 and injuring dozens of others.
“When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the Fake News Media, but it turned out to be true,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“The crime rate in our country is at a level that nobody has ever seen before. Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department.”
“The Trump Administration will fully support the City of New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil!” he added.
The suspect, identified by a law enforcement source as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, was a Texas-born U.S. veteran who espoused radical Islamist ideology.
Despite the suspect’s U.S. origin, the terror attack highlights America’s vulnerability to radical Islamic terrorism thanks to the Biden administration’s open border policies.
Since 2023, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) encountered over 250 migrants crossing the southern border who were on the FBI’s terrorist watchlist, with at least 99 of them released into the country, according to a House Judiciary Committee investigation.
“While national security officials alert Americans about potential terrorist threats, Biden-Harris Administration officials continue to downplay the national security nightmare created by the border crisis,” the Judiciary Committee report said.
