An Amtrak train traveling from Los Angeles to Chicago derailed on Monday after striking a dump truck near a central Missouri town called Mendon.
Videos and photos from the incident are being shared online while outlets are reporting multiple fatalities and around 50 injuries.
Footage uploaded to Twitter shows shook up passengers sitting on top of the overturned train car.
A passenger named Dax McDonald uploaded pictures of passengers gathering in a high school near Mendon, saying he was “so thankful for the people” of the town who “pulled together to help everyone.”
McDonald also posted a video from inside the derailed train car.
Another passenger recorded inside the train after it crashed.
Aerial footage showing the aftermath of the wreck has surfaced as well.
