The anonymous “senior” White House official who penned a 2018 “Resistance” op-ed in the New York Times against President Trump is a former DHS staffer named Miles Taylor.

Taylor’s scathing NYT op-ed described Trump as “impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective,” and revealed he’s one of many anti-Trump officials embedded in Trump’s administration.

Taylor revealed his identity Wednesday on Twitter, saying it’s time for other anti-Trumpers like him to “step out of the shadows.”

Interestingly, Taylor denied he was “anonymous” in an August interview on CNN.

The New York Times and other media had characterized Taylor as a “senior administration official” when he wrote the anti-Trump piece, but he was actually a low-level DHS staffer at the time.

In fact, Taylor didn’t even become Chief of Staff of the DHS until several months AFTER he wrote his NYT hit piece.

The first time Miles appears on the senior leadership page at DHS as Chief of Staff was in February 2019. Several months AFTER the New York Times published his op-ed.

He would stay at DHS until June. So he was Chief of Staff for a total of 4 months.

President Trump weighed in on the revelation on Twitter, condemning the ploy as “another NYTimes scam.”

“Who is Miles Taylor? Said he was ‘anonymous’, but I don’t know him – never even heard of him. Just another @nytimes SCAM – he worked in conjunction with them. Also worked for Big Tech’s @Google. Now works for Fake News @CNN. They should fire, shame, and punish everybody associated with this FRAUD on the American people!”

CNN stated that Taylor will remain a contributor despite lying to anchor Wolf Blitzer about not being the anonymous author before hiring him.
