Self-avowed socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) asserted that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer need “to go”, but the Democrat Party has no good leaders to replace them.
When asked by “Intercepted” host Jeremy Scahill if Pelosi and Schumer “need to go”, AOC replied: “I mean, I think so.”
“I do think that we need new leadership in the Democratic Party…the internal dynamics of the House has made it such that there’s very little option for succession,” AOC said Wednesday.

It can’t be me. I know that I couldn’t do that job.”
AOC cautioned that nobody in the Democratic Party, including herself, is able to “fill that vacuum” that would be left by Pelosi and Schumer.
“And my concern, and this I acknowledge as a failing as something that we need to sort out, is that there isn’t a plan. How do we fill that vacuum?” she asked.
“Because if you create that vacuum, there are so many nefarious forces at play to fill that vacuum with something even worse. And so, the actual sad state of affairs is that there are folks more conservative than even they are willing to…fill that void.”
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich responded to AOC, telling her and the far-left “Squad” to “put up or shut up” by refusing to vote for Pelosi as speaker in January.
“If AOC and the squad really want to move beyond Speaker Pelosi all they have to do is refuse to vote for her. Her margin isn’t big enough to survive without them. Its put up or shut up time,” Gingrich tweeted.
Sabotaging Pelosi’s chances would not be difficult, because she needs nearly every single House Democrat to vote for her as Speaker.
“Pelosi’s thinner majority will require a near-perfect showing from rank-and-file Democrats to again lock down the speakership, a far more difficult task in a year when the coronavirus has sidelined dozens of members over the course of the year,” Politico reported last week.
