Far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was triggered by former President Donald Trump’s campaign visit to McDonald’s, claiming he put on a “costume” to “make fun of” working class people.
“Donald Trump putting on a little McDonald’s costume because he thinks that’s what people do,” Ocasio-Cortez told a crowd Sunday at a rally for Kamala Harris in Philadelphia.
“They’re not trying to empathize with us. They are making fun of us. Donald Trump thinks that people who work at McDonald’s are a joke.”

The New York Democrat went on to excoriate Tesla CEO Elon Musk for pledging to give away $1 million a day to a voter who signs his “free speech and right to bear arms” petition.
“Elon Musk thinks that dangling money in front of a working person is a cute thing to do when the election of our lives is before us,” AOC said. “Because that’s what people and billionaires like them do.”
Harris’s running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) likewise argued on Monday that Trump’s McDonald’s visit showed “disrespect” to the workers.
Trump’s campaign stop at McDonalds in Pennsylvania, where he worked the fryer and drive-thru, was largely seen as a positive and humanizing gesture by most people who were not already avowed Trump haters.

Even CNN acknowledged his McDonald’s stunt was an “unbelievably smart move,” although others at MSNBC fumed at Trump’s “bizarre” move and claimed he’s “not well.”
“Part of what is so striking about [the images] is that he’s not trying to not be Donald Trump. Like some politicians go and they try to dress up as somebody they’re not. He’s still got the red tie. He’s still got- he’s still so clearly himself. And I think this was an unbelievably smart move,” said Kristen Soltis Anderson.

“Because one thing that’s differentiated Donald Trump from other really wealthy politicians is that he has never been seen as the aloof, the billionaire who would never deign to hang out with the commoners,” she added.
