An illegal alien from the Dominican Republic was arrested at a ‘migrant hotel’ in Massachusetts on weapon and drug trafficking charges last week, authorities say.

On Friday, the Revere Police Department (RPD) released details about the disturbing bust, which unfolded on Dec. 27.

RPD officers conducted an investigation of a room at a Quality Inn in Suffolk County which is currently operating as a taxpayer-funded “emergency family shelter” for illegal aliens.

In the room, they found an AR-15 tactical rifle and promptly apprehended Leonardo Andujar Sanchez, a 28-year-old Dominican national who was staying at the hotel.

“Revere Police Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division and Special Investigations Unit along with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, later applied for and obtained a search warrant for the premises,” RPD explained in a press release.

“The search warrant was executed and recovered approximately 5 Kilograms/10lbs of the deadly narcotic Fentanyl with an estimated street value of over $1 million dollars.”

Authorities also found three large-capacity rifle magazines in the room, one of which was loaded with .556 rounds.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration estimates a ‘lethal dose’ of fentanyl at approximately 2 mg for non-users, indicating the amount found in the room was enough to kill roughly 2.5 million people.

Andujar Sanchez illegally entered the U.S. sometime last year at an unknown location, sources informed Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, indicating he is one of millions of ‘gotaways’ lurking across the country.

The Dominican was also in possession of identification for the New York City shelter system at the time of his arrest, Melugin reports.

Andujar Sanchez was hit with 10 firearm charges along with one count of trafficking in fentanyl and ordered held without bail.

Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged a detainer against Andujar Sanchez with RPD, which reportedly cooperates ICE.

An investigation is ongoing.
