Billionaire and Democrat voter Chamath Palihapitiya reflected that Donald Trump’s America First policies have actually helped the country and claimed Democrats with Trump Derangement Syndrome have done more harm than good by trying to stop him.
Speaking on his “All-In Podcast” Saturday, Palihapitiya, a venture capitalist, admitted that Trump did “really great work” on a range of issues, especially when measured up against Joe Biden.
“I voted for Hillary Clinton, I voted for Joe Biden. But this is the honest assessment. [Trump] did, for the things that he was supposed to do, a good job. And for where every other president found a way to make our situation a little bit worse, specifically around wars, he did not do that. And that’s a huge accomplishment that needs to be acknowledged,” Palihapitiya said.

“As a Democrat, who has been left homeless, who is now definitely in the center, but probably leaning increasingly right, I’m left yet again with an appreciation, despite the messenger of the message, of the Trump administration, because what those guys did was pretty incredible in hindsight.”
He cited the Trump administration’s foreign policy successes that prevented new regional wars and his economic policies as reasons to reconsider support for the former president.
“These Abraham Accords, the accords with Israel and the GCC, the almost accord between Israel and Saudi, to really be able to like find a long-lasting peace is just a real example for the world. And those guys did a lot of really great work,” he said.
Entrepreneur and co-host Jason Calacanis agreed, saying, “It’s a miracle when you look at it. Listen, I’m no fan of Trump, but if you objectively look at what they did, it was great work.”
“You have to, it was great work,” Palihapitiya noted, adding that the left afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome have done more damage to America than Trump ever could have.
“This is a moment when you have to start to re-underwrite, is one’s ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ causing more damage than anything President Trump could have done? And I think the answer is yes, because it is now causing us to not see that good work, and then embrace and extend it,” he said. “So much of the work that happened in that administration turned out to have been right, and that is what is so frustrating for me.”
“The work on the border wall, we didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message. Turned out it was right,” he continued.
“Issuing long-term debt to refinance when rates were at zero. We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message.”
“Peace in the Middle East. We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message. When are we gonna stop shooting ourselves in the foot? When are we going to actually take the time to look past who was saying things and actually listen to them word for word?” he asked.
The Biden regime’s disastrous foreign and domestic policies that resulted in two new regional wars under his watch, a collapsed southern border and crushing inflation, appear to be waking up Democrats who were brainwashed into believing Trump was the incarnation of Adolf Hitler.
