Shocking footage out of Austin shows long lines of desperate Texans queueing up to enter grocery stores, as extreme cold weather conditions stretch into their third day and many are without power.

One Austin resident who claimed it was not possible to leave his apartment in a vehicle documented a 4-mile trek to a nearby H-E-B grocery store, where he was met with a long line.

When they finally made it inside, they quickly discovered the shelves were bare.
Some left-leaning Twitter users inaccurately blamed their failure to prepare on the failure of free-market capitalism.
But others capitalized on the disaster and sold their spots in line.
Long supermarket lines were also spotted 100 miles outside of Austin in Kerrville.
