Local media outlets are on-site at a Winder, Georgia high school covering a reported mass shooting that sent several people to the hospital and resulted in multiple deaths.
The suspect is in custody and students are safe while waiting to be picked up by their parents.

The local hospital is reporting multiple patients with gunshot wounds.
One person is in custody.

Popular X account Libs of TikTok pointed out Barrow County Superintendent Chris McMichael said the school board would “have to carefully examine arming” teachers and other faculty last year when Georgia’s Republican Lt. Gov. Burt Jones offered a $10,000 bonus to staff who decide to carry firearms on campus.
Georgia passed a law in 2014 allowing trained teachers to carry guns.

The incident is sparking the same old debates about gun control and placing more armed guards or police in schools.
One student interviewed by local news said the shooter was her “classmate” and another person with grandchildren at the school claimed there were three shooters.
