A CNN panel made a mockery of themselves Tuesday trying to interpret hidden meanings behind special counsel Jack Smith visiting a Subway ahead of reportedly serving another indictment against former President Donald Trump.

The bizarre segment started off with paparazzi-like “exclusive” coverage of Smith exiting a Subway sandwich shop in Washington, D.C., with Inside Politics host Dana Bash fawning over his potential sandwich choices.

“Turns out even Jack Smith can’t resist a $5 footlong. That’s according to what we see right there,” Bash said. “New and exclusive CNN video of the special counsel at Subway declining, though, to respond to reporters’ questions about today’s big news, a target letter sent to the former president of the United States.”

“I mean, look, you can, I can count probably five or six sandwich shops between his office and that location that he was at earlier today,” she went on. “He was—he stood in line like everybody else, and I couldn’t tell whether it was a footlong or is it a — or was it a six-inch sub, but look, I mean, we now are on watch for when this potential indictment is coming.”

CNN host John King then absurdly claimed Smith visited Subway to send “a message to Donald Trump” ahead of his expected third indictment, this time related to Jan. 6.

“We read it, we saw the documentation, we saw the level of detail. Jack Smith going to Subway today is a message to Donald Trump. Donald Trump tries to intimidate people, he bullies people, he tries to scare you away. That was Jack Smith with no words and a simple $5 sub in his hand saying ‘I’m not going anywhere.’”

Bash agreed, saying, “Yeah, the imagery was intentional and spoke volumes.”

CNN’s sycophantic and paranoid delusions of grandeur toward Smith elicited hilarious responses on social media.

CNN was even jabbed over its tone-deaf assumption that foot-long subs at Subway still cost $5 in Joe Biden’s economy.

Trump announced earlier on Truth Social that he’d received a letter from Smith’s office telling the former president he’s the “target” of his investigation into January 6 and to report to the grand jury in D.C. within four days.
