Talking heads on CNN were in disbelief Monday over former President Trump’s strong poll numbers against Joe Biden heading into the 2024 election in the wake of four Deep State indictments.
A CNN pollster told the panel there was “no clear leader” in the 2024 election as several major polls show Trump in a virtual tie with Biden.
“This is significantly closer than where we were four years ago. So this idea that Donald Trump can’t win the general election, I want you to lose that idea. This race is very, very close, and Donald Trump is polling better than basically any point during the entire 2020 election,” the pollster said.
JUST IN: CNN warns viewers that Donald Trump has a real chance of winning the *general* election against President Joe Biden.
Can you hear the panic?

“After four indictments, after four indictments, it just doesn’t really seem to matter,” he added.
“That’s fascinating,” another CNN panelist replied.
This comes right after CNN’s Jim Acosta had a similar shocked reaction to Trump’s political resilience to the indictments, calling it “remarkable.”
CNN’s Harry Enten: “The polling indicates that Trump is, in fact, in a stronger position at this point than he was during the entire 2020 campaign…If we had state level polling, I wouldn’t even be surprised if Trump were ahead in the swing states that are most important.” pic.twitter.com/fzTd3JYskv

Meanwhile, Biden’s standing is taking a different trajectory for the worse, with MSNBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd lamenting Sunday that Biden’s favorability ratings “now look more like Hillary Clinton ’16 than Biden ’20” in part because of his ongoing bribery scandal.
“This stuff has taken a huge toll on him. Biden, before our 2020 elections, was right side up which in our polarized politics is quite astonishing,” Todd said.

“But look, Trump and Rudy Giuliani began this campaign to try to tarnish Biden, to try and turn him into the Clinton name, with the obsession over the Ukraine business dealings with Hunter, and it’s worked,” he added.
