Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul posted photo op images to social media on Sunday, bragging about her schemes to “make” NYC subways “safer” on the same day where several extremely violent incidents took place inside the city’s famous trains.
Hochul shared images of herself speaking with police and military inside the NYC subway system, writing, “In March, I took action to make our subways safer for the millions of people who take the trains each day. Since deploying the @NationalGuardNY to support @NYPDnews and @MTA safety efforts and adding cameras to all subway cars, crime is going down, and ridership is going up.”

Last week, Governor Hochul announced an additional 250 National Guard members would be deployed to subway stations across the city in order to boost security amid holiday season traffic.
Despite beefing up security and boasting of making transit safer, two people were killed on city subways on the same day Hochul posted to 𝕏.
An illegal “migrant” from Guatemala was arrested early Sunday morning for killing a woman after intentionally setting her on fire, according to the NYPD.
The New York Daily News 𝕏 account was called out by Community Notes after posting a headline that stated, “Woman dies after she catches fire in Brooklyn subway car; NYPD suspects homicide.”
The Community Notes comment clarified, “The woman did not “catch fire.” It was a deliberate and intentional act, caught on surveillance cameras. NYPD has arrested a suspect, Sebastin Zapeta, who is accused of intentionally setting the woman on fire, while she was sleeping.”
Commenting on the media twist on the subway killing, Infowars Alex Jones wrote, “Just like that car murdered all those people Friday at that Christmas festival in Germany,” referring to the media telling readers “a car” had driven into a German Christmas market instead of focusing on Saudi refugee perpetrator.
Also on Sunday, two men were stabbed at a Queens subway station when the duo allegedly tried robbing a sleeping man who woke up and cut them with a knife, killing one.
𝕏 owner Elon Musk slammed Hochul as “insane,” and suggested she “should be recalled.”
