The Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency revealed over the weekend that the U.S. Treasury Department left a critical code used to track transactions as an optional tool, resulting in an alarming $4.7 trillion in untraceable payments.
The identification code, called the Treasury Access Symbol (TAS), allowed the trillions of tax dollars to be spent without being tracked.
DOGE made the code mandatory beginning Saturday, meaning all Treasury payments going forward will be traced.
According to The Independent, the $4.7 trillion figure “would represent almost 70 percent of total federal spending last year.”
Musk posted to 𝕏 on Monday, announcing a “major improvement in Treasury payment integrity” was going live.
Infowars founder and host Alex Jones called for a full investigation into why the tracking code was left optional, adding, “arrest all involved!”
