Dominion Voting Systems, the company embroiled in massive controversy over the use of its voting machines in the 2020 election, returned to Twitter to issue a warning to anybody who questions the accuracy of its equipment.

In a post on Twitter, the official Dominion account posted that it is “closely monitoring claims around the Nov. 2024 election.”

“Dominion is closely monitoring claims around the Nov. 2024 election and strongly encourages use of verified, credible sources of info. We remain fully prepared to defend our company and our customers against lies and those who spread them.”

The post’s reference to remaining “prepared to defend our company and our customers against lies,” is a clear warning and an unspoken reference to Dominion’s vast settlement with Fox News. In April of last year, Fox News agreed to pay Dominion $787 million after they were sued for $1.6 billion over claims of election-rigging.

The post links to the company’s website and a fact-checking page called “Setting the record straight: facts about Dominion.”

“Dominion has no ownership ties to George Soros, foreign leaders (including no financial ties to the Chinese government), or U.S. political party leaders,” the page says. There is a list of bullet-point “facts” about the company, and links to other fact-checking websites intended to debunk various different claims about the company and the 2020 elections.

This is the first time the company has posted on Twitter since October 2022, when Elon Musk took over the platform.

At time of writing, the post has received nearly 4 million views, but comments have been turned off.

There have already been claims that voting machines are malfunctioning and flipping voters’ choices.

Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene said on Friday that machines in Whitfield County, Georgia were altering voter preferences.

“We vote on Dominion voting machines then it prints a paper ballot with our selections made on the machines,” Greene wrote in a post on Twitter.

“This voter’s printed ballot had been changed from their selections made on the machine.”

A spokesperson for Dominion Voting Systems told The Independent that its “understanding from the county is this instance was voter error and has since been resolved.” The Whitfield County Board of Elections also issued a statement sayingthat it was “aware of a Facebook post stating that a printed ballot didn’t reflect the voter’s selection. The issue was quickly resolved while the voter was still on-site.” There have been “no issues reported” with voting machines in Whitfield County, the Board added.
