Following the result of another Twitter poll indicating that over 70% want to see a general amnesty for suspended Twitter users, Elon Musk has announced that it will begin next week, but it appears there are some major caveats.
Musk again said “the people have spoken,” and used the Latin phrase “vox populi, vox dei,” meaning “the voice of the people is the voice of God”.
It means that accounts that didn’t break the law or spam egregiously will be reinstated, according to Musk.
The amnesty announcement immediately triggered the media into declaring that a bunch of ‘online safety experts’ are warning that “lives are at risk.”
The overlord experts are panicking about “a rise in harassment, hate speech and misinformation.”
At the same time this was all unfolding, Musk tweeted out several posts regarding ‘hate speech’.
It is now clear that those terms were, shall we say, somewhat broad. So will they all remain in place after the amnesty?
It isn’t clear.

What does it actually mean?
I’m not a fan. Not that I’m for “denying” historical events but “denial” can be subjective and people taking ridiculous and easily disproved stances should be subjected to appropriate ridicule publicly as opposed to being banned thereby rendering their views “mysterious”.
