FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) agents are shacking up in 5-star luxury beachfront resorts in Maui amid the agency’s botched handling of the deadly wildfire disaster.
The 1,000 FEMA agents who’ve been dispatched to manage the government’s response to the Maui wildfires are reportedly staying at luxury resorts that start at $1,000 per night, the Daily Mail reported.
Fox News host Jesse Watters broke down the shocking report Tuesday.
“FEMA — the team that’s supposed to be digging through the ashes and delivering aid — has turned the Hawaii tragedy into a junket,” he said. “FEMA booked themselves into 5-star luxury Hawaiian resorts, where they relaxed at cocktail bars knocking back drinks 45 minutes away from Lahaina — the city consumed by an inferno.”
The government is disrespecting us once again. FEMA has turned the Hawaii tragedy into a vacation. The FEMA agents were staying at Grand Wailea, Four Seasons and the Fairmont Kea Lani, all 5-star hotels, with others staying at the Marriott Wailea Beach.
“FEMA has confirmed that they were staying at these hotels,” Watters noted. “But they won’t tell us how much they’re paying. They mumbled something about a government rate and they appeared vague and defensive.”

From The Daily Mail:
FEMA teams have checked in at three five-star hotels, the Fairmont Kea Lani, Four Seasons, and the Grand Wailea Astoria where past guests include members of Hollywood’s elite.
Their rooms carry price tags that are well out of reach of most hard-working Americans.
Federal government rates for this week at all three resorts start at an eye-watering $1,000, company sources told DailyMail.com.
The Fairmont Kea Lani, Hawaiian for ‘heavenly white’, boasts on its website about being the ‘only all-suite’ hotel in Hawaii that once welcomed ex-Bond star Pierce Brosnan and offers ‘gourmet dining’ to uber-wealthy guests.
The 780 rooms come with either one or two bedrooms, measuring at least 860 square feet, and have private balconies so that visitors can soak up the sunset views of what the hotel calls ‘an oceanside paradise.’
Meanwhile, the Four Seasons, another top resort that once hosted Kanye West, spans nearly 15 acres and has a white fountain pool, green trees, 600 square-feet rooms.
Photos by The Daily Mail confirm its reporting, showing FEMA agents enjoying cocktails and relaxing in swanky lounges.

This comes as FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell complained on CBS’ Face The Nation that the agency was set to run out of disaster funds within weeks.
“Our estimates do still say that we may have a depletion of our fund — now it’s pushed into the middle of September,” Criswell said. “And as we get closer to that, I mean, this is a day-by-day monitoring of the situation.”

Meanwhile, the devastating wildfires that have killed at least 115 have also left thousands of people homeless after their houses were scorched to the ground in the deadliest U.S. wildfire in over 100 years.
To add insult to injury, the Biden administration announced it would only issue a one-time payment of $700 to Maui wildfire victims while also announcing an additional $24 BILLION to Ukraine.
This also comes as the federal and local government has been receiving intense criticism over its slow and mismanaged response to the Hawaiian disaster, including its lack of transparency.
Reports have also surfaced claiming FEMA was denying much-needed supplies provided by volunteers, prompting residents to form their own volunteer networks to deliver aid to Lahaina victims.
