Musician YG the Rapper says members of the black community he associates with have changed their minds on former President Donald Trump since the release of his notorious anti-Trump single in 2016.

The singer of “FDT” (F**k Donald Trump) told comedian Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast earlier this month that sentiment in the black community towards Trump has shifted since Biden took office, especially after Trump rolled out the Paycheck Protection Program in 2020 to rescue the U.S. economy during the Covid pandemic downturn.

“Do black people fuck with [Trump] more? It seems like it to me,” Von said, adding, “It seems like more black guys would mess with Trump because he seems more, like, connected to the culture a little bit.”

“Hey, look I ain’t gonna lie bro. The black community was not fuckin’ with Trump, you know what I’m saying?” YG told Von. “But when that PPP [Paycheck Protection Program] shit and all that shit came out, mm-hmm, black people forgave him.”

“Because he helped out?” Von asked.

“Yeah,” YG confirmed, going on to act out a conversation he had with one black person who changed their mind about Trump.

“I’m speaking on the motherfuckers in the hood and shit too… I’m speaking on [their] behalf, you feel me? Let them tell it. And this what they say… ‘Shit, Biden ain’t did nothing for us. Dat nigga Trump passing out money! We fuck with Trump!’ I’m like, ‘Dang, so y’all back with Trump, just like that huh?’ He was like, ‘Hell yeah! Dat nigga passing out money!’”

The positive comments toward the former president are an about-face to previous sentiments espoused toward Trump by YG, who at one time kicked a fan off-stage for refusing to say, “Fuck Donald Trump.”

Many online interpreted YG’s comments to mean he is voting for Trump in 2024, however the rapper made no remarks to that effect in the podcast.

The rapper’s statements underscore how the black community is not buying into the media’s demonization campaign against Trump, and does not favor Biden or his leftist agenda bankrupting the country and driving more Americans into poverty.
