Hurricane Milton greatly reduced in severity after days of intensifying. After a number of destructive tornados hit Florida on Wednesday, Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm but decreased to a Category 1 over land.

The AP reported Thursday morning that at least four deaths have occurred as a result of the storm which left 3 million without power. Images of Milton’s damage are now coming out.

Sky News reported Thursday morning that at least 27 tornados hit Florida while they showed the aftermath of the hurricane.

On Wednesday Palm Beach Gardens was hit by a tornado which preceded Milton’s landfall.

The aftermath of the tornado was also filmed.

The tornado was able to lift a trailer-length dumpster onto a home.

As Milton made landfall people took to social media with videos of the powerful winds at night.

Boats can be seen on land following the hurricane.

The fabric roof of a sports field ripped off in the storm. It was reported that first responders were staging within the fabric-roofed structure and had to leave, likely to a structure with a non-fabric roof.

One person had a tree fall on their home, destroying the roof.

The juxtaposition of the storm’s power and its eerie calm within the eye was depicted in another post on social media.

From afar the circular shape of the hurricane can be seen.

Another social media user posted a video from Siesta Key Island during the storm.

Sarasota Police Chief Rex Troche asked residents to stay home if already home, or not immediately return if away, as the bridges are currently closed until they can be assessed for damage.

Writer Evan Parker posted an image of Sarasota, Florida Thursday morning showing limited damage. He mentioned in the comments that power and water was off.

Talkshow host Benny Johnson posted an image of a structure on fire during the hurricane, depicting why power should be turned off.

Johnson posted a video of the aftermath he witnessed.

Those seeking refuge who are sex predators or fugitives must shelter in the county jail.

Interestingly, the ocean near Naples, Florida is flowing north.

Interesting clouds and colors were seen in the sky.

Some flooding was seen around Dayton Beach, Florida.

Sarasota, Florida received a storm surge flood as well.

Flooding was also shown from drone video out of Tampa, Florida.

A satirical A.I. image was created showing a young girl holding a small dinosaur following the hurricane, perhaps poking fun at a more believable A.I. image of a girl holding a puppy following hurricane Helene.
