Hurricane Milton greatly reduced in severity after days of intensifying. After a number of destructive tornados hit Florida on Wednesday, Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm but decreased to a Category 1 over land.
The AP reported Thursday morning that at least four deaths have occurred as a result of the storm which left 3 million without power. Images of Milton’s damage are now coming out.
Sky News reported Thursday morning that at least 27 tornados hit Florida while they showed the aftermath of the hurricane.

The tornado was able to lift a trailer-length dumpster onto a home.

The fabric roof of a sports field ripped off in the storm. It was reported that first responders were staging within the fabric-roofed structure and had to leave, likely to a structure with a non-fabric roof.

Sarasota Police Chief Rex Troche asked residents to stay home if already home, or not immediately return if away, as the bridges are currently closed until they can be assessed for damage.
