DOJ’s Botched Infowars Auction Likely to Be Investigated by Trump AG Pick Matt Gaetz, Says Former Asst. AG

'If they had the highest bid and that was ignored... that's a serious legal issue that will need to be examined,' says former assistant AG Jeff Clark.

'They're trying to clearly rush this out and shut Alex Jones down as a kind of demonstration of: they're still in charge for the next 67 days or so, and...they could live to regret that.'

It’s highly likely an incoming Trump administration will investigate the Biden DOJ’s US trustee program after a court-appointed trustee for Infowars allegedly accepted a bid lower than the highest bid during a controversial auction process, according to former Assistant US Attorney General Jeff Clark.

Clark said during his time as assistant AG under former President Donald Trump he addressed the flawed US bankruptcy trustee system currently “bedeviling Alex Jones.”

“And so if what Alex Jones describes is correct… that there were other bidders, you know maybe led by Roger Stone – and he’s a hero for putting them together to try to rescue Infowars – and if they had the highest bid and that was ignored… that’s a serious legal issue that will need to be examined,” Clark, director of litigation at the Center for Renewing America, told Real America’s Voice on Thursday.

“I was looking at who the current director is of the US trustee program, it’s a woman named Tara Twomey, and you know you better believe that when the Trump administration starts that she’s going to get investigated… how this bankruptcy of Alex Jones was investigated… how it was dealt with, is going to be investigated.”

“This is something that you know hopefully the judge will shut this down and say, ‘Look, I’ve got to review this…,'” Clark said, going on to say the bankruptcy judge may be restless over the amount of time the case has stayed on his docket.

“I don’t think that’s well known, that the US bankruptcy trustee program is part of the Justice Department. The Justice Department’s span is truly enormous,” Clark noted.

“You know that needs to be investigated, and I think that we can probably count on a Matt Gaetz as attorney general to do that kind of deep investigation,” Clark said.

“And so they’re trying to clearly rush this out and shut Alex Jones down as a kind of demonstration of: they’re still in charge for the next 67 days or so, and you know they could live to regret that.

“And so I think people should be looking over their shoulder and thinking about whether they really want to be doing this, to shut down an important media operation.”

On Thursday evening, Jones broke massive news coming out of an emergency bankruptcy court hearing where US Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez said he was concerned over how the auction – which satire site The Onion allegedly won – was conducted, considering one of the parties bid $3.5 million while a court-appointed trustee admitted The Onion’s was not the highest bid.

“We’re all going to an evidentiary hearing and I’m going to figure out exactly what happened,” a “frustrated” Judge Lopez said at the emergency hearing Thursday, adding, “No one should feel comfortable with the results of this auction.”

Jones sounded the alarm on the emergency hearing’s developments during a marathon broadcast on X Thursday, arguing the sale has not been finalized or approved by the judge despite mainstream outlets’ reporting:
