A Soros-backed Haitian nonprofit group in Ohio has filed criminal charges against former President Donald Trump and his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance over their remarks related to reports of Haitian migrants eating pets in Springfield.

Guerline Jozef of the Haitian Bridge Alliance filed the charges under an Ohio statute that allows private citizens to file criminal charges, claiming that numerous threats in the city over the past few weeks strained local resources and city services.

So the “threats” have overwhelmed city resources — but not the 20,000 Haitian migrants themselves?

Jozef alleges that Trump and Vance bringing attention to the stories resulted in harassment of members of the local Haitian community and that the former president and his running mate should be prosecuted for their actions.

“We want the judge to issue arrest warrants for Trump and Vance immediately, there is probable cause,” lead counsel Subodh Chandra said Tuesday.

“The Haitian community is suffering in fear because of Trump and Vance’s relentless, irresponsible, false alarms, and public services have been disrupted,” Chandra said in a statement. “Trump and Vance must be held accountable to the rule of law. Anyone else who wreaked havoc the way they did would have been arrested by now.”

The charges laid out by Chandra Law Firm, the firm representing the Haitian nonprofit, are as follows:

  • Disrupting public service in violation of R.C. 2909.04(A) and (B) by causing widespread bomb and other threats that resulted in massive disruptions to the public services in Springfield, Ohio;
  • Making false alarms in violation of R.C. 2917.32(A) by knowingly causing alarm in the Springfield community by continuing to repeat lies that state and local officials have said were false;
  • Committing telecommunications harassment in violation of R.C. 2917.21(A) and S.C.O. § 537.08 by spreading claims they know to be false during the presidential debate, campaign rallies, nationally televised interviews, and social media;
  • Committing aggravated menacing in violation R.C. 2903.21(A) by knowingly making intimidating statements with the intent to abuse, threaten, or harass the recipients, including Trump’s threat to deport immigrants who are here legally to Venezuela, a land they have never known;
  • Committing aggravated menacing in violation of R.C. 2903.21(A) by knowingly causing others to falsely believe that members of Springfield’s Haitian community would cause serious physical harm to the person or property of others in Springfield; and
  • Violating the prohibition against complicityR.C. 2923.03(A) and S.C.O. § 501.10, by conspiring with one another and spreading vicious lies that caused innocent parties to be parties to their various crimes.

The Springfield City Prosecutor, County Prosecutor, and the City Law Director will review the charges to determine if there is probable cause.

Notably, the Haitian Bridge Alliance and other immigration nonprofits received a $1.3 million grant from George Soros’s Open Society Foundation in 2021.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung released a statement in response to the filing.

“President Trump is rightfully highlighting the failed immigration system that Kamala Harris has overseen, bringing thousands of illegal immigrants pouring into communities like Springfield and many others across the country. President Trump will secure our border and put an end to the chaos that illegal immigration brings to our communities,” Cheung said.

The filing cites city leaders claiming reports of Haitian migrants abducting and eating pets and wildlife in the Springfield area were “debunked,” but numerous testimonies by Springfield residents tell a different story.

Even Ohio Attorney General Dave Yos noted earlier this month that contemporaneous evidence of these reports also exists, such as a 911 phone call by one Springfield resident reporting of Haitian migrants eating local ducks and geese.

The mainstream media and Democrats had tried blaming Trump and Vance for inspiring violence against the Springfield community for alleged bomb threats, which turned out to be a hoax from foreign nations, according to Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R).

Other than the bomb threat hoax mentioned in the filing, the group did not provide any specific instances of “harassment” or “intimidation” that the Haitian migrants allegedly experienced.

Notably, one of the criminal charges in the filing makes no mention of that and acts as if the bomb threats were legitimate.

Vance explained to CNN’s Dana Bash in a contentious interview earlier this month that he was simply bringing attention to complaints brought forth by his constituents.

“What we have said is that this town has suffered terribly…under the policies of Kamala Harris. Now, you just [accused] me of inciting violence against the community when all that I’ve done is surface the complaints of my constituents, people who are suffering because of Kamala Harris’s policies,” Vance said.

This is just another Democrat lawfare attempt to jail Kamala Harris’s political opponents which amounts to election interference with only 44 days left to go until Election Day.
